Bulldogs Unleashed Behind-the-Scenes Documentary

When you visit Art In Your Eye (you ARE planning to visit Art In Your Eye - right?) be sure to take a peek at the Bulldogs Unleashed Behind-the-Scenes Documentary. It's premiering during Art In Your Eye! Showings are in City Hall on Saturday, the 13th at noon and 3 p.m. and Sunday, the 14th at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. This documentary was completely donated by BATV. Admission is FREE!

Art: Only 18 days until Batavia's Fine Art Show

August is almost upon us. And, that means Batavia's Fine Art Show: Art in Your Eye is not so far away. This year the Batavia Arts Council will be hosting a special tent: "The Art of Spoken Words" - we'll be on the Plaza featuring poet Barbara Perry of “Fresh-Squeezed Poetry” She will create on-the-spot personal poems from prompts from the festival attendees. Art in Your Eye - Security Volunteers Needed

Art in Your Eye, Batavia's fine art show, needs security volunteers. They need someone to keep an eye on the tents the nights of Friday, August 12th, and Saturday, August 13th. From 7 PM to 7 AM, volunteers are needed for 2.5 hour shifts.  If you're interested, contact Lane Allen at 630-879-8831 or e-mail: lallen@allenpepa.com.

Art in Your Eye - Volunteers Needed

Art in Your Eye, Batavia's fine art show, needs volunteers. The show is August 13th and 14th. They need artist helpers, people to help with setup and teardown, people to help with traffic, man the bike parking area, sell raffle tickets... "Flow": a show of new work by Art in Your Eye poster artist Rita Grendze will have it's reception on August 5th at Allen+Pepa Architects (8 W. Wilson, Batavia, IL, 630-879-8831) from 5 PM to 9 PM. Rita's work will be on display through September 5th.

Call for Auditions: The Albright Theatre Company - "Eat Your Heart Out" by Nick Hall - July 17th & 18th

The Albright Theatre Company in Batavia, IL is proud to announce auditions for the first show of their 38th Season! "Eat Your Heart Out" by Nick Hall is a hilarious comedy and a great way to open the season!

Auditions will be held on July 17th & 18th at 7:30 pm. They will be held at the Albright Theatre, 100 N. Island Ave, Batavia, IL 60510. The Albright Theatre is located on the 3rd floor of the government building.

he cast consists of 3 men ages 20 - 50 and 2 women ages 20 – 50. Actors will be asked to play multiple roles.Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Callbacks are optional and may be held on Tuesday, July 19 at 7:30 pm (by invitation only).

Additional information including character breakdown will be posted at the Albright Theatre website.

Bach and Beyond Concert - The Fox Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists

Come hear some wonderful music at this year's Bach and Beyond Concert on Friday evening,  July 29th,  at 7:30 pm in Marmion Abbey. The concert will feature organ, brass, chorus, and solo vocal music, about half Bach and about half other composers.  Performers include Marsha Foxgrover, Jonathan Rudy, and Batavia Arts Council member Victoria Linich.  The concert is free (donations accepted).

Marmion Abbey is located at 850 Butterfield Rd in Aurora.

Save the Date! September 10th - Bulldogs Unleashed Live Auction and Dinner Reception

Bulldogs Unleashed invites you to attend the Live Auction & Dinner Reception on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Fox Valley Country Club. Fourteen of the twenty-five larger-than-life decorated bulldogs will be available for live auction. In addition, there will be great raffle prizes, including the chance to win one of the three 17" commemorative bulldogs (Sport, Quarry and Abundance). Bulldogs Unleashed t-shirts, note cards and posters will also be available for purchase.

Batavia Fine Arts Centre Red Carpet Gala

On Saturday, August 20th (6:00pm - 11:00pm), the Batavia Fine Arts Centre will be opened to the public during a Black Tie optional celebration called the Red Carpet Gala!

The Centre’s logo will be unveild, tours will be given, and you will get to view an art showcase and several performances by various groups: musical, dance and theatric.

Water Street Studios: Call for Entries

Water Street Studios Announces a call for entries to its first of many themed show, "illuminate". illuminate will explore light in all of its forms and is open to conceptual interpretation: mechanically lit pieces are welcome, as are depictions of luminescence, as well as conceptual pieces. Work in all media accepted.

This will be a dimly lit show, with the gallery's house lights off and sporadic track lights on.

Submission deadline: December 11th

Opening reception January 27th, 6-10p. Show: January 27 - May 12
