Art on Your Face Festival 2020
If we have to wear facemask, lets make it ART!!! Batavia Arts Council present the summer 2020 Art on Your Face Festival. We hope to present limited edition art facemasks over the summer as a means to support our talented visual artists, and spread beauty around our communities, and as a fund raiser for our mission.
The First offering is by local talent Joe Gagnepain, ArtbyJoseph. Only 50 of these face masks will be made, and sold on a first come first service basis. Please place your pre-order now to reserve yours. Fabric is on order and will be created into masks within days of arrival. The photos is a graphic rendering of what the mask will be similar to. This is a fund raiser with 2/3 of the profits going to the artist and 1/3 going to Batavia Arts Council. Batavia Arts Council is a 501c3 organization. Mask are $25.00 each and can be ordered below.
The Origianal art work by Joe Gagnepain is approximately 3 ' by 5", an acrylic on canvas and available for $2000. This work is titled "Ed 1" and honors one of his close friends. This piece was painted live at three different underground parties. It was started at the first of those, when Joe was introduced to that "scene". He continued working on the piece at two additional events, one being at a Chicago Outlaws space. Prints are also available in various sizes through his web site.

Francis Joseph Gagnepain IV began his career as a full-time, freelance artist in 1989. A prodigy of sorts, Joe was doing life drawing as early as sixth grade. He began high school in St Charles, IL and finished at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, an independent preparatory high school for the performing and visual arts located in the River West neighborhood of Chicago. He studied Fine Art the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in the 1990s.
Joseph is a lifelong resident of the Fox River Valley in Illinois, and has two children, Logan and Hannah. His fine art and commercial work adorn homes and businesses, both interior and exterior, throughout the Fox Valley. His sculptures, which he creates from found materials, occupy places of significance in outdoor spaces throughout the community and beyond. www.artbyjoseph.com
